Schools

St. Brigid's crossesThe services we can provide for schools can be broken down into two broad categories (or quite often a combination of both):

  • Working in school grounds and
  • Workshops with pupils

School Grounds

We can create anything from a complete school eco-garden from scratch to a makeover of existing
features, a willow dome installation, establishment of raised beds or just maintenance of existing willow features.

Workshops

We can provide tailor made workshops to suit various ages, abilities and class sizes and to be complementary to the curriculum. Simple seasonal projects eg. willow Christmas stars or St Brigid’s crosses or simple basketry making a garden trug or more complex rustic furniture projects.

We recognise the importance of school wildlife gardens and outdoor classrooms in the provision of a context in which pupils can explore nature and creativity in a safe and stimulating environment. We are not just about willow domes.

Living willow hedgehogWe do provide free site visits, we provide design consultations and we can help with grant applications for small or large projects.

We can install:

  • Ponds and water features
  • Vegetable plots
  • Seating areas
  • Footpaths
  • Hedges
  • Fences
  • Tree planting
  • Orchards
  • Fruit bushes and shrubs
  • Living willow features

We aim to provide environmentally friendly projects promoting biodiversity, whilst engaging pupils’ interest, imagination and creativity.
