Who we are
Welig Heritage Crafts is run by basketmakers and traditional countryside skills practitioners Clive Lyttle and Elaine Burke from their smallholding near Portaferry on the Ards Peninsula in rural County Down where they live with their four children and various animals.
What we do
We make baskets, gardenware, hurdles and willow sculpture. We make rustic furniture and design and supply living willow structures. We undertake contracts for hedgelaying, drystone walling, hedge/tree planting, woodland management and work with schools.
To be environmentally friendly growing willow and other broadleaved trees for our work. To produce a range of work both functional and artistic. To pass on our skills and knowledge to others through demonstrations, talks, workshops and ultimately to run a sustainable business based on quality, our heritage and traditions and on our creativity.
